LIT TEMPUS

The Western Balkan Information Literacy Conference attracted many delegates from the Western Balkan Region and from around the World. The Conference was made special by the presence of Dr Christine Bruce from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane Australia- widely considered the most important figure in the field of Information Literacy today. Other keynote speakers included Tefko Saračević Distinguished Professor Emeritus  from the School of Communication & Information Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, United States. The Western Balkan Information Literacy Conference is supported by, inspired by and dedicated to the achievements of European Union Tempus project 517117 Developing information Literacy for lifelong learning and knowledge economy in Western Balkan countries. The Conference is now considered one of the leading Information Literacy Conferences in the World- this is a significant achievement in a Region where prior to this Tempus project the term “Information Literacy” was almost unknown.
