3rd Scientific Working Group Meeting (SWG) Meeting, Tirana, Albania March 11th-14th 2013

This third Scientific Working Group (SWG) Meeting was hosted by the Agricultural University of Tirana. The SWG is comprised of librarians and academics from each of the 13 partners in the project. The SWG is the representative and decision making body for setting up and improvement of the IL guidelines, and establishes roles and duties of each component. The SWG defines procedures of work cooperation to be applied to help achieve the goals of the project.

2nd Didactic Working Group (DWG) Meeting Rethymno, Crete, Greece December 3rd-6th 2012

EU and Western Balkan partners pictured at the Didactic Working Group Meeting Crete, Greece December 3rd-6th 2012.At the DWG meeting hosted by University of Crete in Rethymno, Crete, Greece each Western Balkan partner provided some important updates about the project particularly around the areas of embedding of IL in each institution, information literacy training and electronic surveys.  Also the final versions of IL publications e.g. IL guidelines, curricula, harmonised contents were agreed.

2nd Information Literacy Training Working Group (ILTWG) Meeting Bihać , Bosnia & Herzegovina November 5th-8th 2012

The Cantonal and University Library, Bihać

The 2nd ILTWG meeting was held in Bihać, Bosnia & Herzegovina.   The ILTWG is comprised of representatives from each of the 13 institutions who are partners in the project. The function of the ILTWG is to ensure the application of new IL teaching technologies and to identify training needs for improving specialised information literacy knowledge among librarians and academics across the Western Balkan institutions in the project.

The ILTWG has responsibility for the forming of Guidelines for training of IL practitioners. It assesses the need for creating/improving IL competencies and disciplines within the Consortium. The ILTWG also identifies management strategies for updating of IL training content and exchange of IL experience among partners to ensure best IL practice across the Western Balkan institutions in the project.

At this 2nd ILTWG meeting important goals and objectives were agreed to do with staff training and the roll out and implementation of the IL programs.

2nd Project Management Committee (PMC) Meeting Bergen, Norway, 2nd-5th October 2012

This was an important meeting of our Project Management Committee (PMC) where all deliverables, goals, documents and minutes in the project to date were ratified by the PMC. The PMC is comprised of representatives from each of the 13 institutions who are partners in the project. The function of the PMC is to ensure that project objectives are clearly highlighted, project deliverables are met and to implement procedures for efficiency of the project:

2nd Scientific Working Group (SWG) Meeting Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina June 25-28th 2012

The 2nd Scientific Working Group (SWG) Meeting was held in Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina June 25th-28th 2012. The SWG is the representative and decision making body for setting up and improvement of the Information Literacy  Guidelines, to establish roles and duties of each component and to define procedures of work cooperation to be applied. The meeting was attended by representatives from all partners in the Project. At the meeting SWG members discussed and agreed important goals to do with teaching content harmonisation and the production and exchange of harmonised didactic IL materials.

2nd Tempus Didactic Working Group (DWG) and 2nd Information Literacy Module Working Group Meeting (ILMWG) 28th February-2nd March 2012

ILMWG representatives pictured at the ILMWG meeting Brasov, Romania 28th February-2nd March 2012Transilvania University of Brasov, Romania played host to both the 2nd meeting of the Didactic Working Group (DWG) and the 2nd meeting of the Information Literacy Module Working Group (ILMWG). The meeting was attended by representatives from all partners in the project.

At this meeting members of the Didactic Working Group (DWG) - composed of librarians, teaching staff with specific skills in didactic organisation gathered to discuss delivery  of guidelines for planning IL programs. The Information Literacy Module Working Group (ILMWG) meeting concerned agreeing criteria, models, templates and language versions for the delivery of Online information literacy modules.

Tempus Project Kick off Meeting Limerick Ireland 21-24th November 2011

 

The Tempus Project Kick Off Meeting  was held in the Strand Hotel Limerick from the 21-24th November 2014. In an unprecedented collaboration of countries this meeting saw almost 100 librarians and academic staff from 13 higher education institutions  from Ireland, Romania, Greece, United Kingdom,  Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo under UNSC Resolution 1244/99 and Montenegro attend the meeting which focused on Developing information literacy for lifelong learning and knowledge economy in Western Balkan countries.

At this Kick Off Meeting in Limerick the Project Management Committee (PMC) and other Working groups-the Didactic Working Group (DWG) ; the Scientific Working Group (SWG); the Information Literacy Training Working Group (ILTWG) and the Information Literacy Module Working Group (ILMWG) were put in place and their inaugural meeting took place.
